2. Másodszor, csak, hogy tisztázzam azok számára, akik erre az oldalra tévednek:
A szurikáta nem egyenlő a rókamangusztával.
A rókamanguszta és a bozontos farkú rókamanguszta pedig nem ugyanazt jelenti:
Minden bozontos farkú rókamanguszta rókamanguszta, de nem minden rókamanguszta bozontos farkú rókamanguszta.
Nagyon sokan keverik a két állatot, találtam olyan forrást is, ahol a rókamangusztáknak három fajtáját tekintik: (Idézem:) "Szurikáta, vagy vékonyfarkú monguz, sárga, v. bozontos farkú monguz, és szürke monguz." (Mongúz hosszú "ú", egyébként.)
Mindenesetre, a szurikáta és a rókamanguszta nem ugyanaz az állat, bár kétségtelenül rokonok.
A magyar Wikipédia szerint Az Oroszlánkirály szereplője, Timon rókamanguszta, helytelenül, mivel ő valójában szurikáta.
